Revv G20 Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Revv G20 masterfully combines the warmth of tube amps with modern IR capabilities, delivering an impressive range of heavy tones ideal for recording. Its user-friendly design makes it a breeze to operate, even for those hesitant about digital gear. However, some may find the gain lacking for extreme metal, and the clean channel doesn't break up as expected, which could limit tonal versatility. The absence of a footswitch in the package is also a miss. Overall, for musicians seeking a versatile amp for both live and studio use, the G20 is a compelling choice.

Revv G20 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Revv G20 packs a punch with its high-gain capabilities and Two Notes technology, making it an impressive companion for both live performances and studio recordings. Its compact design and robust build quality enhance its portability, while the variety of onboard features, including extensive cabinet simulations, offer incredible tonal flexibility. However, it does suffer from minor quirks, such as occasional pops when switching channels. Overall, the G20 is a fantastic value for serious musicians seeking a blend of classic amp feel with modern digital versatility.

Revv G20 head review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Revv G20 is a powerhouse of versatility, blending vintage tube warmth with modern digital prowess. Its high-gain capabilities and onboard Two Notes Torpedo module make it a standout for both studio and stage use, offering impressive tonal options and MIDI control. However, while the amp excels at delivering rich, saturated leads and clear cleans, its complexity might overwhelm beginners. Nonetheless, for seasoned players seeking a compact, robust solution, the G20 is a formidable contender, proving that you can indeed have your cake and eat it too.

Great Lunchbox with great tone

When I first turned on this amp and tried it out, I ran my G&L S-500 through it and there wasn't a bad sound in earshot.... yes it doesn't have reverb and there is no control for the dirty channel (reason for 4 stars)... I look at it this way... the clean channels takes pedal really well.... like really well... the dirty channel is basically the Revv G3 pedal built in... the sound is very clear and no muddiness at all... it has an fx loop so I run my Slotva thru there as reverb and the amp just sings... the installed two notes is a nice touch when I can just use the amp and run it direct or with headphones..

So overall it's my go to amp for anything I play..

Great Pedal Platform

The versatility is amazing, just wish the built in reverb wasn't tied to the DI out, as it would be nice to have on the speaker outs.
