The JX-3P is described as more versatile than the Juno-106, partly due to its two-oscillator architecture, allowing for a wider range of sound exploration.
Source -
U-He Diva can approximate JX-3P sounds by adjusting oscillator slop and using TAL chorus, though it lacks native cross modulation like the JX-3P.

Features and functionality
-
The JX-3P's PWM, detailed in the manual, is considered by some users to sound as authentic as traditional PWM, though some refer to it as "pseudo PWM."
Source -
The JX-3P can emulate Juno-like sounds by using DCO 2 as a sub-oscillator, with DCO1 set at 8 and DCO2 at 16, and tuning DCO 2 an octave lower.
Source -
The JX-3P's programming interface requires entering a parameter code before using a slider, making it less intuitive than knob-heavy designs.

Pretty standard but good quality modeled analog synth.
This synthesizer was obviously designed, in terms of its physical control panel, to compete with button-oriented, preset-based synths like the DX-7, and primarily for stage use. However, this VSTi comes with the PG-200 built-in, making it more like a beefed-up Juno (2 DCOs vs 1+sub). This puts it somewhere between a Juno and a Jupiter - solid ground for an analog synth - plus it has a gorgeous chorus effect. The only issue I have had with it is audio output crackling/breaking up when running it in Reason Lite 11, but it runs fine in Ableton Live 10 Lite so no problem.
