Plug-out plug-in
For a synthesizer that's designed to handle plug-out softsynths it's slightly weird to use it as a softsynth itself but it works and, thanks to its comprehensive control panel, is surprisingly powerful. It appears to be the actual System-8 software that runs in the System-8 hardware. I couldn't get it to load into n-Track Studio, despite the Juno-106 and Jupiter-8 working in that, but the System-8 runs fine in Ableton Live 10 Lite and Reason Lite 11.
