It's big so you know it's good

The modules are big big but the sound isn't big. It's built ok. My mos-lab and STG/Corsynth modules are much better. It's great for utility. The VCO's suck. The filter is ok. The envelope generators are not bouncy. The VCA's are clean and super useful. The other utility modules are super useful.

I mean it's not terrible. It's not a rolls royce. It's a yugo. But it still goes where it goes.

A powerful and commanding synth

I love my dotcom system. I have a 22 space portable cabinet loaded with 3 VCOs, their brilliant filter, a couple ADSR envelopes and a 24 step sequencer. It's basically a minimoog and a sequencer in one box. It sounds like a Moog as well. Brilliant work from this literal Mom and Pop business from Texas. Instead of spending your money on all the flash-in-the-pan coffee table synths that are on the market today, you can subscribe for a monthly delivery of a module. The build quality is very nice and the price is unbeatable. The owner and designer, Roger, will come to feel like a friend. Must've been what Moog felt like in the 60's. I highly recommend.

I've been eyeballing these for years.... I am just not Mr Modular and always shy off.... is he in the euroraxk form factor now? I know he wasn't.... but that was a long time ago

Nope. Still doing the 5U Moog-unit modules. It's kind of a closed system but it's good. You can avoid getting addicted when you run out of cabinet space. Maybe.

Early on we used an MPC for drums. A Prophet-5 was used throughout the single I Know, I Hear. A Yamaha CS60 for bass and big swells in Do It Again. The most used synth was the Roland Paraphonic 505 – which was often used with a custom Gavilan Rayna Russom-designed ‘Sound Strobe’. But, the Juno 106 was used quite a lot, as was my Synthesizers.com modular synth.
