REVIEW - Yamaha DGX650 Digital Piano - Recommended

azpianoreviews.com

The Yamaha DGX-650 offers an intriguing blend of educational features and instrument voices, making it a fun and versatile digital piano for casual players. While it boasts a solid build and an impressive array of sounds and effects, its key action falls short of a true acoustic experience, lacking the realism found in similar-priced competitors like Casio and Kawai. Its weight and size also limit its portability. Ideal for those who enjoy ensemble play and interactive features, but traditional pianists seeking authentic key action might look elsewhere. The review is balanced, acknowledging both strengths and limitations.

Yamaha DGX 650 review | Digital Piano Review Guide

digitalpianoreviewguide.com

The Yamaha DGX-650 shines as an educational tool for beginners, offering impressive features like a robust educational suite and a diverse songbook. Its affordable price and realistic acoustic feel make it a strong contender for learners. However, it lacks the sound customization and control sought by advanced players. While not revolutionary, it provides good value, making it a solid choice for those prioritizing learning over professional-level performance.

Sounds Like A Real Grand Piano with tons more sounds!

I am extremely picky when it comes to sound. This digital piano has a nice warm full sound, just like a real grand. You can also play a live grand piano. This digital piano comes with hundreds of different instruments and is very good for the price. I have tried other pianos a little above the asking price for this one and it wasn't even comparable. I give this a two thumbs up! ;)

soundchick1983

I thought I wouldn't really like digital piano's because I have always wanted what I would call a "real Grand piano" but this does more than it's job surprisingly. I am really amazed at all the other cool instruments and sounds that I can do on this baby.

soundchick1983

Also I have the foot pedals for this. (Which is not shown in the picture)

jimmarchi1

I really like my Yamaha, head and shoulders above the competition as far as stage pianos goes not only for sample quality but action.

One of the best feeling keyboards I have ever used!

I absolutely love this keyboard, from the midi capabilities to the feel of the keys, it's amazing!
