Lightweight, great for a second synth

I use the MM6 as a lead synth. It has some really nice sounds taken from the flagship Motif. Lightweight makes it easy to transport and carry up them stairs at a venue. Only problem I have had with it is that it's plastic shell whilst being light is also very prone to damage and dents.

The Yamaha MM6 is a great back-up keyboard...

This has been my back-up keyboard since I got it in the late 2000's and still use it today. I use it for shows on smaller stages. It has many Motif-based sounds and only weighs 11 lbs. and is easy to transport to gigs.

At a very low cost to me, this is a great keyboard

I bought this used for about $200 and have gotten my money's worth for certain. Performance banks are great for live setting, since the voice banks are a bit hard to negotiate otherwise. I definitely appreciate the voices it comes with. The rhythm bank is relatively useless to me. Since my ownership, the display screen has given out, but i luckily learned where my preferred voices were before that happened (and I consult the manual whenever I need a new one). Would recommend!

Needed a workstation that could emulate my old Fender Rhoades from the 70's...

Why oh why did I ever let that one go?? Well, I know why: the keys were killing my fingers, and lugging it around was killing my back! Still I wish I had it back, just for nostalgia. Anyways, the MM6 has several 70's-ish elec piano sounds, and its grand piano is awesome, esp recorded direct into iPad music programs. Just playing around but you may hear from me...;_)

Great for the price!

I always wanted a Yamaha Motif and ended up getting this which is close but no cigar. It doesn't have the pattern loop function and computer interface I want but could still be used with a DAW or DAT.
