Mikko Lindström's Gear
"It's a white SG. We have changed the humbucker as a Seymour Duncan."
In a gear rundown video by Custom Boards Finland, Mikko Lindström is shown using the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh fuzz pedal to enhance his sound, particularly when mixed with a multiplexer.
"We didn't record too many tracks this time, and I just played with my SG on the left side and on the right side I played with a Fender Tele, using different setups with both amps."
"The 5150 is the main lead sound, and one of the two Laneys has an Octafuzz Multiplexer and the other one has a Pharaoh fuzz pedal."
Linde seems to be using a Laney Ironheart istead of his typical VH100R, most likely due to issues with backline renting.
In the YouTube video "DunlopTV - HIM Linde & Mige Show Us Their Gear," Mikko Lindström expresses his admiration for the Laney VH100R guitar amplifier head, stating, "They just sound perfect to me."
Linde seems to be using a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier in the linked Facebook post by Gas Lipstick.
This is the only image of him with this guitar, whether he owns and/or played it live is unknown.
"We use it to bring up a bit of a texture."
Linde appears to be using a Marshall amp instead of his typical Laney VH100R, most likely due to issues with backline renting issues.
"It's more aggressive than the normal one. I love it, it's huge."
They mention Ibanez Wau Fuzz at 04:39.
The short conversation covers the fact how that particular fuzz has been in and out of Linde's rig for many years. The man himself calls it a "vibe fuzz" because he uses it when he feels like it instead of having it constanly in his rig.
"The idea was to have four amps, four different sounds and control them with one switch"
This is a video of HIM playing on Jyrki TV in Finland, 1997 and 1998. Linde can also be seen playing this Flying V in the music video for "Right Here In My Arms" in 2000. It's also the guitar that Ville Valo played on Top Of The Pops in 2003 when Linde had to fly to Finland for the birth of his daughter.
Rumor says that Linde bought that particular Flying V from Hanoi Rocks' Andy McCoy.
Linde used an amp that appears to be a Valvestate in the mid-to-late 90's.
Lindström appears to use a brown Gibson SG Special at 16:29. I believe This is the same model that he donated to charity as a former "warm-up guitar" somewhere between 2014-2016. I don't know why is he using it on stage, but maybe it's because of a broken string or something similiar to that.
In a gear rundown video by Custom Boards Finland, Mikko Lindström is shown using the Electro-Harmonix XO Octave Multiplexer to enhance his distorted guitar sound.
From 1:47 in the video, Lindström can be seen playing this guitar.
Believe that he only uses the tremolo for clean parts to add texture.
In the beginning of the video the pedal can be seen in his pedalboard.
At around 2:36 this is shown as a pedal in his rack units. Used at around the 2 o' clock position.
Around 1:29 in the video this pedal was shown for the Strange World single at Finnvox Studios.
While I can recognize a music man, I'm not entirely certain about the model. Unfortunately I'm not exactly a Music Man expert. The amp can be seen at 8:30.
Linde stated that he might have used the amp for "some tracks on the album" and didn't know why it was at their rehearsal place in first place.
"So I'm using this Kemper thing for convenience."
I might've been mistaken about the model since I don't use Kemper and have little understanding between the models. You can see the modeler at 8:50.
Linde is likely using the Vox as a personal monitor since he appears to be hiding a Kemper profiler rack to the side of the stage.
