Shure is an American audio equipment manufacturer founded in Chicago in 1925 by Sidney N. Shure as a radio parts distributor. The company pivoted to microphone manufacturing in the early 1930s, introducing its first model in 1932. Sidney's brother Samuel joined the company, which operated as Shure Brothers for decades before being renamed Shure Incorporated in 1999. The company remains headquartered in the Chicago area.

The SM57 (1965) and SM58 (1966) define Shure's reputation and rank among the best-selling microphones in history. The SM57 is a cardioid dynamic instrument microphone used extensively for recording guitar amplifiers, snare drums, and brass instruments; the SM58 is its vocal counterpart, recognizable for its distinctive spherical windscreen and found on stages worldwide. The SM7B, a broadcast-quality dynamic microphone originally designed for radio, gained widespread adoption in recording studios and later in podcasting. The BETA series offers updated capsule designs, while the MV series — including the MV7 USB microphone — targets home recording and content creation. The company's original Model 55 Unidyne, introduced in 1939 as the world's first single-element unidirectional dynamic microphone, remains in production as both a working instrument and a design icon.

Beyond microphones, Shure manufactures professional wireless microphone systems under the ULXD, SLXD, and Axient Digital product lines, as well as PSM personal monitor systems widely used for in-ear monitoring on live stages. The SE series of earphones spans consumer and professional tiers. Shure also produced a long-running line of phono cartridges — including the V15 series — that earned lasting regard among audiophiles and turntablists.

Shure has 763 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Wireless Microphones, Condenser Microphones, and Dynamic Microphones. Their gear is featured by 2603 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Pop, and Electronic. Notable users include Neil Tennant, Tyler Joseph, and Josh Dun. Shure's catalog spans the full price spectrum — from entry-level options to high-end flagships.
