Description

The 1956 Gibson Byrdland is a testament to the innovation and craftsmanship that defined mid-century electric guitars. As a semi-hollowbody electric guitar, it offers a unique blend of rich acoustic resonance and electric versatility, making it a favorite among jazz, rock, and blues musicians. This model, introduced in 1955, was co-designed by guitar legends Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, and it features a shorter scale length of 23.5 inches, which offers a distinct playability and tonal response, catering to intricate fingerwork and smooth chord transitions.

The Byrdland's construction includes a laminated spruce top and maple back and sides, delivering a warm and resonant sound with excellent sustain. Its dual humbucker pickups provide that classic Gibson tone, offering a range from warm and mellow to bright and articulate, perfect for both subtle jazz chords and soaring rock solos. The neck is crafted from mahogany and features a bound rosewood fingerboard, providing smooth playability and a touch of elegance.
