Description

So I’m not usually big on doing direct clones or pedals that are commonly cloned but with how well the green Russian Muff turned out I thought “why not make the other versions?”.

The OPAMP MUFF. The original was one of of my favorite versions because of the aggression and distortion in spite of its harshness (which I of course have addressed) I went with WIMA film caps for the nf values and silver mica for the pf values to smooth out some of that harshness without losing aggression. The main change is adding a mid/scoop control. At noon it’s pretty much dead on but clockwise increases mids and counterclockwise decreases them. The original had either the extremely scooped tone stack or a complete bypass of the stack for all midrange. My design allows for a ton of tones in between. I also tweaked the tone stack a bit so not only can you achieve flat/unity Mids, you can even boost mids above unity
