A meticulously crafted homage to the underappreciated Jupiter-4, Cherry Audio's Mercury-4 brings vibrant life back to this classic synth. With over 400 quality presets and enhanced features like MPE support, it offers a rich sonic playground that appeals to both novices and seasoned sound designers. Cherry Audio Mercury-4 review: an unusual vintage synth reborn

Cherry Audio's Mercury-4 is a delightful tribute to the classic Jupiter-4, delivering stunning sounds and intuitive controls that make it a breeze for both novice and seasoned musicians. Its price tag of $39 offers incredible value, packed with features like enhanced polyphony and an expansive effects section. However, the unconventional arpeggiator may require some adjustment for traditionalists. While it excels in versatility, the unique oscillator characteristics might not sit well with everyone. Excellent !

I don't and never have owned a Roland Jupiter 4, but since it's almost impossible to find a Jupiter 4 in the wild, and I don't have £8,000+ to buy one, I'll settle for this £29 emulation that adds extra functionality, and can be carried around on a usb stick. I initially looked at its specs on paper and thought I wouldn't need it because it only has one VCO, but after demoing it, was surprised by how phat it sounds, and it does also have a sub osc and detune etc...to make it sound much bigger than it looks. It has that great late 70s charm and the vibe feels authentic. Another slam dunk for cherry audio !!
