wow !!
I own cherry audio voltage and I've been promising myself I'd roll the sleeves up and really get into it, but haven't found the time as yet cos I'm just constantly working on tracks and don't want to leave "the zone" to begin the task of learning a whole new program as complex as voltage. I keep buying interesting modules for that day when I do actually get into it. Along the way, Cherry audio have dropped some amazing synths such as the dco106 ( roland juno 106 emulation ), the ca2600 ( arp 2600 emulation ) and the polymode ( polymoog emulation ), and not only have they been amazing, but they are astonishingly super cheap. Any other developer would easily have charged over £100 for them, but they have consistently set them at $29.
Cherry Audio dropped a teaser with the opening chord of Van Halen's "Jump" as a clue, and asked what synth they may be about to release. Everyone knew it was gonna be an Oberheim, but not the Eight Voice. The second I seen it had been released, I didn't even need to hear a single note, as it was an insta-buy..........such was my confidence level, based on the dco106, and ca2600. When I downloaded, installed and started playing it, I was stunned. I may not be enamoured with some of the quirks of the interface, linked to resizing and scrollbars, but I absolutely love the sounds it makes. This thing makes some of the lushest, most harmonically rich pads I've heard on any synth, at any price. It absolutely oozes warmth, and I'll be using this beauty at every possible opportunity.

maybe, but the point was that it was an Oberheim, with that very distinctive Oberheim sound =)
