Description
Step back into the golden age of rock with the Coral Longhorn (1966-1969), a semi-hollowbody electric guitar that marries vintage charm with modern playability. Originally designed for versatility and distinctive style, this instrument is perfect for collectors and performers alike who seek a piece of musical history. The Coral Longhorn boasts a unique double-cutaway design, offering a comfortable playing experience while still providing easy access to higher frets.
Equipped with two lipstick pickups, this guitar delivers a bright, jangly sound that defined some of the most iconic tracks of the '60s. Its semi-hollowbody construction not only enhances its resonance and sustain but also reduces the weight, making it ideal for long gigs and studio sessions. A bolt-on maple neck ensures a smooth, fast action, and its rosewood fingerboard offers a warm, rich tone that complements its vibrant sonic palette.

So who doesn't like to get weird every once in a while? Picked this up from one of music's wackiest stores (Subway Guitars in Berkeley). It was put together with leftover parts from the original Danelectro factory. Danelectro provided guitars to Sears in the 60s that were quite good & owned by many future legends (such as SRV). Surprisingly plays great, although for me, it's more of a "messing around" instrument for those Pulp Fiction inspired moments. Not one I'd ever gig or record with. Still, can't get rid of it.
In a user-uploaded photo, John Flansburgh is pictured with a Danelectro Coral Longhorn, which appears to have had a pickguard added. This is a rare sighting, as he has been seen with this guitar only once. The guitar might be a Thinline model, though no additional photos are available to confirm this detail.
