Description
Discover the unique blend of craftsmanship and creativity reflected in the Fender Jazzmaster Troy Van Leeuwen Signature. This electric guitar pays homage to the influential guitarist recognized for his sonic innovation with Queens of the Stone Age. The TVL Jazzmaster merges Van Leeuwen's artistic vision with Fender's renowned craftsmanship, producing an instrument that's as daring and genre-defying as the artist himself.
With an eye-catching oxblood finish and a distinctive pickguard, this guitar looks as rebellious as it sounds. It's not just about aesthetics though; this signature model comes loaded with Fender's American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single-coil pickups. These deliver crisp, articulate tones, from sparkling cleans to crunchy overdrives. An easy-to-use three-way toggle switch allows you to choose the neck pickup, bridge pickup, or both, giving you endless tonal variations to tap into Van Leeuwen's broad sonic landscape.
Taking a leap from tradition, the TVL Jazzmaster features a Mustang bridge with individually adjustable saddles for precise intonation. Combined with the Jazzmaster tailpiece, this upgraded hardware provides a familiar feel with modern enhancements in tone and playability. The adjustable saddles and tailpiece ensure tuning stability and allow each note to ring out fully, perfect for solos or ambient swells.

American made in Mexico
At first, let me tell you this is a killer guitar. The pickups, bridge and tremolo are made in America but the guitar was assembled in Mexico. The neck is very nice though glossy, no fret sprouts, fits into my hand really well. The rhythm circuit is different than on your usuall offset guitars and it's actually very handy when used together with fuzz pedals. The color is fabulous.
I don't like one thing and that's the small vintage frets. If you have never played a guitar with 7.25 radius and vintage frets, you have to learn how to play all over again, especially if you bend a lot. Otherwise, it's really easy to fret complex chords thanks to the vintage radius.

Very Original Jazzmaster
This guitar really sounds and feels like an old Jazzmaster. While it's not really my go-to music to make- this guitar is really good for the surfy spaghetti-western music. The pickups take distortion well and are pretty bright without being too brittle. The rhythm circuit does not feel as dull as many other Jazzmasters, and I find myself using it a lot more than I expected. Despite it being made in Mexico, which really doesn't mean much anymore, this is one hell of a guitar.
The oxblood is what led me to this guitar, after playing a show with someone back in 2017. Definitely an eye-catcher.
The one issue I had was the circuit switch. It only latches maybe 1/4 of the time. I'll be swapping this out soon with (hopefully) a direct replacement. I think I may have just gotten a dud switch.

Fantastic looks, tasteful specs.
Probably the perfect Jazzmaster configuration, especially for the price. Upgraded pickups may be nice, but not strictly necessary.
I love the sound of this guitar and where everything is placed
I love this guitar it's fun to play and has a great sound, the colour is also so cool.

At the "Post Pop Depression" Tour Homme can be seen playing a Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster.
Turner was seen using the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster onstage at a concert with singer/songwriter Alexandra Savior.
“I’m Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age and this is my signature Jazzmaster. The color was something that I have always liked - oxblood - in some light it looks black, in some light it looks red. I really wanted to go for a mid-60s aesthetic with the binding and the blocked fret markings. I mean it just does all the things I want it to do, as far as the way it looks.
And then as far a difference on what a Jazzmaster is, really the only difference is I use this [top] pickup selector all the time and the little plastic one just doesn't really work for me. So if I'm either using it as a kill switch or pickup selector this is very convenient to me, having all the controls up here. So I can in the middle of a song do both. It’s kind of an all-around useful guitar.
The neck is kinda based off a ’65 Jazzmaster. I’m somebody who appreciates guitars for being different. A Tele has its classic sort of thick neck for me, and this is a classic neck for this model. I think that the relationship between a single coil pickup and the rosewood fretboard is a good marriage because they can get a little too bright if there's a maple fretboard. I think it just adds a little bit darkness to an otherwise super wirey tone.
It looks complete to me because of the headstock. much like The Dude said about his carpet, it ties the whole thing together.
When I was learning how to play guitar it was all about Zeppelin, and Hendrix, and standard tuning. For Queens [of the Stoneage] we have different tunings, and that's always fun to do but it's almost like exploration of your own kinda making… it’s important to experiment, and this is a good guitar to experiment with because of all the different tone options.
What it means to me to have a signature model is that not only do I get to express what I like in a guitar, but if people are interested in what I do and if my name's on it, I think what they'd be getting is my appreciation for things that are classic. This is a classic guitar, to me, with just a simple modification just for function. So there's a bit of fashion and function involved, and that’s kinda where I live.”
