Possibly the best Strat
So my 2005 ice blue metalic model has been gigged heavily over the last 16 years, my main instrument. Plays like butter and sounds just like it should. The 57/62 usa pick ups are really cool, if you want that Leo era sound. I have never fitted the fender supplied 5 way switch, the 3 way Neck- Middle- Bridge switch has served me very well indeed.
My other stratocasters have a V profile which is often referred to as a 57 shape. The '62 AVRI neck is slim and C shaped, very fast and the rosewood board makes for a rewarding playing experience.

James Calvin Wilsey had a matching pair of '62 AVRI Stratocasters. He can be seen in multiple youtube videos playing these, as well as a champagne sparkle strat that appears on the cover of his only album, el Dorado. In addition, many Chris Isaak videos feature him playing the olympic white strats.
