Mentioned in the May 1984 Guitar Player interview "Session Bassist — The Groovemaster: Jerry Jemmott" by Gene Santoro.
Jemmott plans to feed his signal into his Kybo speaker bottom, made by Transylvania Power Supply of Walnut Creek, California. It houses a 15" Altec Lansing speaker in a projection cabinet. "It delivers like a six-foot tall tube setup, but it's only about the size of an Ampeg B-15," Jemmott explains. "With the Fender 300B head, it projects to 90 feet before the sound disperses." Jemmott likes the Fender amp because it combines power with serviceability; he also prefers the crisper transistor sound to the warmer sound of tubes for today's music. "But the sound is really what you put in there," he hastens to add. "It's in your hands." Although he sometimes uses a phaser or an Electro-Harmonix Memory Man digital delay, he generally works without effects. His strings are La Bella Quarter-Rounds, which he finds wear well and are quite adaptable to his variety of sounds and techniques.
