The Fender FSR Blacktop Stratocaster HSH is part of the Fender Special Run, and there are only 42 of them worldwide.

The guitar is very similar to the standard Fender Blacktop Stratocaster HSH, but has a few distinguishing features. The body and headstock have a matching satin polyurethane finish, in the limited edition color Flat Charcoal. In addition to the standard 5-way pickup switching configuration, the FSR model features a "Passing Lane Switch" (also known as a "blower switch") which bypasses the 5-way switch, volume pot, and tone pots, instantly engaging the bridge pickup at full volume and brightness. And while the standard model has a conventional Stratocaster tremolo system, the FSR model has a string-through hardtail bridge.

Like the standard version, this guitar has an alder body, 25.5" scale maple neck, and rosewood fretboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets. The bridge and neck pickups are "High Output Alnico Humbucker Pickups", which may or may not be the same as the Korean-made BHK Blacktop humbuckers (with AlNiCo V magnets and very high resistance) found on the non-FSR models. In the middle position is a Telecaster neck pickup. All hardware is chrome.
