Fender California Series Player acoustics review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Fender's Malibu Player Acoustic-Electric Guitar stands out in the saturated sub-$500 market with its fresh design and impressive sound. The unique body shape and scalloped bracing deliver a bright, balanced tone ideal for fingerstyle players. Its built-in Fishman electronics ensure clear amplification without feedback, making it stage-ready. However, while the aesthetics and playability are commendable, some may find the smaller body less comfortable for prolonged sessions. Overall, the Malibu Player combines style and substance, but potential buyers should consider their playing preferences before committing.

More Electro than acoustic

due to its small body, the acoustic of this guitar is not enough to use it whitout an amp, it wont sound too loud, it works great with amps (I also test it with distortion and did an interesting result)
