Fender's Player Series HH Telecaster Is An Instant Classic | Ultimate Guitar

ultimate-guitar.com

Fender's Player Series HH Telecaster is a remarkable blend of classic design and modern versatility, particularly with its dual humbuckers that deliver a sound reminiscent of both Gibson and traditional Tele tones. While the coil-split feature isn't groundbreaking, it still provides useful tonal options. Praised for its comfortable neck and impressive tuning stability, this guitar shines in high-gain settings and offers surprising clean tones. However, its price may deter some who remember the days of cheaper models. Overall, this Telecaster stands out as a dependable choice for players at any level, dubbed a "Les Paul killer" that’s perfect for stage use.

Fender Player Telecaster HH Review - Still Best for Intermediate Players

guitaristnextdoor.com

The Fender Player Telecaster HH stands out for its versatility and rich humbucker tones, making it a solid choice for various genres from metal to blues. With a commendable split-coil option that nearly captures the essence of classic single-coil sounds, this guitar excels in providing players with a broad sonic palette. However, some drawbacks include rough fretboard edges and higher-than-average action right out of the box, which may require adjustments. While it doesn’t quite deliver the quintessential Tele sound, its playability and quality for the price make it a compelling option for intermediate players. Overall, it's a well-crafted instrument, although those seeking the original Telecaster vibe may need to look elsewhere.

Fender Player Telecaster HH Review - Guitar Space

guitarspace.org

The Fender Player Telecaster HH is a solid choice for guitarists seeking versatility and comfort without breaking the bank. With its smooth playability and warm, rich sound from the Alnico humbuckers, it excels across various genres. However, players may find the fretboard edges rough and the action high out of the box—though both are easily remedied. While some may expect higher detail and finish quality for the price, the overall value it offers makes it a worthy investment. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned musicians, this Telecaster shines as an affordable, stylish, and adaptable instrument.

Great guitar for the cost

Fantastic guitar for the price point. The neck is a little flatter than a standard C. Pickups sound great. The split coil function leaves a little to be desired but I mainly play Humbuckers anyway. I've got the tidepool finish - doesn't look as good as the pelham blue on my epi les paul but it still looks great. The neck is unfinished and always glides well. Great guitar for playing lead. The back of the body is contoured too which lets the beer gut just hang out fine.
