Description

The Gibson Custom Adam Jones Flying V Collectors Edition Electric Guitar - Reverse Antique Silverburst is a rare gem, embodying the stellar fusion of Adam's Silverburst Les Paul's iconic style and the edgy aesthetics of a Flying V. This guitar, one of only 50 in the world, mirrors Adam's #1 Les Paul in almost every aspect, barring its distinctive shape. Its body, a Les Paul-style maple-topped mahogany, promises exceptional sustain and crisp, clear highs. The neck, a sturdy 3-piece maple shaft with a comfortable medium "C" profile, is adorned with a sleek ebony fretboard and striking mother-of-pearl block inlays.

The guitar's powerful sound is derived from a unique combination of a bridge-position custom-wound Seymour Duncan DDJ and a neck-position Custombucker, a setup directly inspired by Adam's extraordinary Silverburst Les Paul. This duo ensures an expansive sonic palette capable of delivering everything from fervent Tool riffs to dynamic, PAF-style cleans. The Gibson Custom Adam Jones Flying V is a truly breathtaking instrument, with a unique Reverse Antique Silverburst finish aged meticulously by the experts in Gibson Custom’s Murphy Lab.

Gibson launches the Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition, a $19,999 Murphy Lab doozy with a Futura-style headstock | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Gibson's Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition is a stunning tribute to the Tool guitarist, merging bold design with high-end craftsmanship. Its Reverse Antique Silverburst finish and heavy build promise an audacious playing experience, mirroring Jones’ vintage Les Paul Customs. However, this premium guitar comes with a staggering price tag of $19,999, which may deter many potential buyers. While it's packed with features like a Custombucker and Seymour Duncan DDJ pickups, the steep cost could leave some questioning its value over more accessible models. For dedicated collectors and fans of Jones, this Flying V is a must-have, but for casual players, it may be a hard sell.

“An out-of-this-world limited-edition Flying V”: Gibson’s latest Adam Jones signature guitar is here – and it’s a $20k Murphy Lab recreation of the Tool titan’s prized Flying V with a Futura-style headstock | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Gibson's Custom Adam Jones Flying V Collectors Edition is a luxurious homage to the Tool guitarist, boasting premium features like a non-weight relieved mahogany body and custom pickups. With only 50 units available at a steep $20k, this guitar embraces exclusivity and craftsmanship. However, the exorbitant price may be a barrier for many, leaving it accessible only to dedicated fans or collectors. Overall, while it dazzles with its high-end aesthetics and sound quality, it might not justify the investment for every player.

Gibson launches Adam Jones Flying V Collector's Edition guitar

guitar.com

While the Gibson Custom Adam Jones Flying V Collector’s Edition boasts a beautifully aged design and top-notch components, its near $20,000 price tag raises eyebrows. The limited run of only 50 units and the heavy mahogany body may appeal to die-hard fans and collectors, yet the exorbitant cost and weight may deter many players. With an impressive aesthetic and exclusive features, it’s a guitar that’s undoubtedly luxurious, but practicality and affordability remain significant drawbacks.
