Description

The Custom Shop Caddy-Bo by Gretsch

The Gretsch Custom Shop Caddy-Bo is a handcrafted, premium electric guitar from Gretsch’s revered Custom Shop, blending iconic vintage design with modern playability. Built in the USA by master luthiers and debuted around the 2016 NAMM show, it features classic Gretsch appointments like a distinctive Caddy-Bo body style and eye-catching finish. Its solid alder body with mahogany back and stock “C” neck profile provides rich tone, warmth, and balanced resonance. Dual TV Jones Filter-Tron or equivalent premium pickups deliver that signature Gretsch jangle with powerful articulation and clarity. High-end components like Grover Imperials, Adjust-O-Matic bridge, and bone nut ensure precise tuning and smooth feel. Detailed appointments including silver sparkle binding, mother-of-pearl thumbnails, and chrome hardware make it as visually striking as it is sonically versatile. Being a Custom Shop model, it’s a rare, collector-worthy instrument that excels both on stage and in the studio.

"Gretsches sit in a different part of the frequency mix than the Fenders or the Gibsons. They carve a different spot, which is why I played so many live." - Zac Brown
