Review of the Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit ST-Style Electric guitar. Where to buy it?

buscarinstrumentos.com

The Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit ST-Style is a surprising gem for DIY enthusiasts and beginner guitarists alike. While its lightweight, resonant body and smooth neck are highlights, minor tweaks are necessary for optimal playability—particularly with the nut slots and pickup placement. The assembly process is straightforward, and with some patience, players can achieve a quality instrument that rivals more expensive models. However, the stock electronics and strings leave something to be desired; replacing them can significantly enhance the overall tone. In summary, this kit offers great value and a rewarding build experience, but be prepared to invest a little extra effort to reach its full potential.

Not for beginners but for projects

The one I got had terrible frets. They were not sharp at all but the leveling was so poor that I had to raise the strings A LOT. Pickups were okay but I put a spare Jackson stock humbucker to the bridge. Tuners were also quite bad so I swapped them to Wilkinsons. The bridge was bad too :P but I just screwed I tight so no problem if you don't use the arm.

For those who REALLY like building guitars

I got this some years ago and the frets were really bad. If you know how to level, crown and polish frets then it is no problem and fortunately I knew how to do it. Stain it to your favourite colour and get maybe new pickups and a steel block bridge, and there you might have a great guitar to play!
