RG2EX2 Review | Ibanez | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Ibanez RG2EX2 is a mixed bag, offering a smooth and fast neck with 24 tall frets, making it suitable for metal and classical styles. Users appreciate its affordability and aesthetic appeal, yet many note the need for costly pickup upgrades to achieve optimal sound. While some find it an unexpectedly good backup guitar, others are hesitant due to the extensive work required to maintain it. Overall, it's a reliable and visually striking guitar that shines with some tweaks but may not be worth the investment for all players.

ultimate-guitar.com

The Ibanez RG2EX2 shines as a budget-friendly electric guitar, offering impressive versatility in sound ideal for genres like metal and classical. Its strong points include excellent action, fit, and finish, with a neck that feels natural for players transitioning from classical guitar. However, the guitar's reliability may be questioned due to fret issues in colder weather, and the pickups, while decent, could benefit from an upgrade to active models for those seeking a more powerful output. Overall, this guitar delivers substantial value for its price, making it an appealing choice for both practice and performance.

AWESOME GUITAR!!

I've had this guitar for a couple of years now and it plays even better than when I first got it. I'm not gonna lie I DO maintain it very well. I clean the fretboard and polish the frets every time I change the strings and do a set up on it. You can play virtually any style of music with it and the playability is outstanding for its price. I'm never gonna get rid of this guitar.
