RGT42DXFX Review: It's a match made in heaven. I recently got an RGT42FX... | Ibanez | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

For metal enthusiasts seeking a sturdy, reliable axe, the Ibanez RGT42DXFX delivers a solid performance with its neck-through construction and beefy hardware. The guitar's mahogany body and maple neck offer impressive sustain, though the stock pickups might leave some wanting tighter low-end tones. Its durable build, highlighted by corrosion-resistant Powder Cosmo hardware, stands the test of time, making it a perfect touring companion. While the white binding and hardware finish may not appeal to everyone, the guitar's overall craftsmanship and playability make it a worthy contender in its class.

RGT42DXFX Review: I don't hate anything, just when it goes out of tune... | Ibanez | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

Ibanez's RGT42DXFX is a rock-solid choice for metal enthusiasts, offering a robust mahogany body and a sleek Wizard II neck that promotes fast playing. The fixed bridge version of its tremolo counterpart, this guitar delivers endless sustain and power, although the stock Infinity pickups leave room for improvement. Enthusiasts may consider upgrading to DiMarzios for a richer tone. While the guitar boasts excellent craftsmanship and reliability, it can go out of tune with extensive bends. Its durable build ensures longevity, but potential buyers should be wary of its weight and the need for occasional tuning adjustments. Overall, the RGT42DXFX is a great value for its price, making it a tempting option for those on a budget seeking a capable metal machine.

Not exact model, I owned the RGT42DXFM is not on EquipBoard. (DXFM has a floyd rose bridge.)

Being my first guitar, I didn't know what to expect. I was easily blown away, a wonder to play and after a few upgrades and fixes. A wonderful guitar.
