Bang for your buck Acoustisonic clone

So I saw this guitar on a youtubers page during this past NAMM. Looked up reviews on YouTube and was intrigued enough to buy one of these guys. You can get them direct from the factory in Vietnam, shipping is expensive but all in all, for less than 300 bucks you get a well made instrument that does the job. I am primarily a worship musician, I needed a new acoustic anyways and this was in my budget.

The guitar was packaged really well. It shipped from Vietnam and was shocked at how well the instrument was protected. Took me a minute to get to the guitar but it was worth it. Good build quality for the money. Everything worked out of the box.

The Guitar has a basswood body with a genuine sound hole, Mahogany neck with an Indian Laurel fretboard, Bone nut and bridge saddle, ebony bridge piece, piezo pickup system and a full blown humbucker you can switch to a or blend with the piezo. The raw specs are all here and the guitar sounds great because of it. It doesn't have the fancy electronic system the Fender Acoustisonic has but I'd argue that it's in this guitars favor. The hardware/electronics are a little rough around the edges but because this guitar has it where it counts, I forgave those shortcomings.

The piezo pickup sounds fantastic, the electric guitar pickup (Humbucker) works in a pinch but it's not great. I ended up swapping the stock humbucker out with an EMG H1A Bridge pickup and put in an orange drop capacitor in the tone pot. Those little upgrades REALLY made this guitar a two tone threat. Like I said earlier, the guitar can be rough around the edges, the neck is mostly unfinished and the fret ends had some sprout, but the frets were leveled up and down the neck and it was surprisingly really easy to play (low action like an electric guitar). I polished up the frets and rounded off the fret ends, applied a little lemon oil to the fretboard and now she plays like a professional instrument. Have to mention that the nut and bridge saddle were cut well so I didn't have to mess with that.

Recently Used it for two worship gigs and was shocked and surprised at how well it held up. Got a lot of compliments from the congregation, house musicians and sound guys. Chords were effortless to play, even playing high on the neck. Switched to the electric pickup for a song for some lead lines and you'd swear I was playing a lead electric guitar.

Would highly recommend this instrument for anyone, even for beginners, since the neck is pretty much an electric neck with it's dimensions and ease of play, it makes it easy to pick up and play cowboy chords or for the more advanced players, it's easy to riff on. The sound hole makes a surprising amount of sound but it also won't wake up or disturb your wife/kids in the adjacent room(s) of your house.

The guitar takes a 9v battery for the piezo pickup under the bridge, the humbucker pickup is passive, so if you want to experiment with that by swapping it out for something different, go nuts, the electronics in this guitar are dead simple. The piezo electronics have mini pots inside a back plates of the guitar, there are three pots total and they control the tone, volume and bass response. It took me a second to figure out which pot controlled which since they aren't marked clearly. One volume and one tone controls the electric guitar pickup, the three way switch allows you to play either just the piezo pickup, a blend of the piezo and electric pickup or just the electric pickup.

The guitar also looks really cool, weighs next to nothing, I think 5 and a half pounds at most? It's not neck heavy either, super comfortable to play sitting or standing. It's the most fun guitar I have in my collection and would recommend this to any player whether a beginner to a seasoned professional.
