Lovepedal Babyface Tremolo review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Lovepedal Babyface Tremolo offers a compact and versatile experience with three distinct tremolo types, making it a space-efficient option for pedalboards. The sine wave setting delivers a classic Fender amp-style sound, while the square wave provides a pronounced chop. However, the pedal's eccentric tones might not suit everyone's taste, and some controls inconveniently reside inside the chassis. While the pedal provides a broad speed range, its usability can be hindered by the time it takes to find the right sound. Overall, it's a decent choice for those with a penchant for experimental tones, but not without its quirks.

Great tremolo; Too bad depth control is hidden

This can easily be the best tremolo pedal out there. Very musical. It doesn't get 'synthy' if that makes sense — something I hated my Stereo Pulsar for. It doesn't turn into ring modulator when the speed is cranked. I wouldn't say that entire speed range is usable, but even the extreme settings are something I imagine can be used in arrangement. It can do vintagy amp-like stuff or modern chops. It lets enough signal through, so your guitar won't sound like muffled something. It doesn't drop the volume since you have level control inside of it, that also will not send you amp into overdrive, like Trelicopter does on low depth settings.

This can easily be the most annoying tremolo pedal in the world because that extremely useable depth control is hidden inside the box, so you have to unscrew the back cover every time you want to adjust that little trim pot, which is a bit of PItA.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I got two applications for it: vintagy, amp-like sounds with depth around nine-ten and speed at around two o'clock, and more modern-sounding tremolo with depth cranked to 11-12, speed and waveform to taste.
