In this video of Charly García playing a Beatles song (There's a place) in his famous apartment in Buenos Aires, Charly is using a Marantz PDM740, a cassette tape multitrack made in Japan in 1993. When released it was the most expensive 4/6 cassette tape multitrack recorder on the market at a whooping £849, about £2053 adjusted for inflation.

The quality on this machine is topmost, it has warm preamps, VU meters, mixdown capabilites, several IO, punch in pedal inputs, many send-returns (Y cables) and a heavy external PSU.
