Great Concept... Not great in the real world...
I actually love the concept for this cable. It would be very convenient for everyone on stage if the musician could simply mute his/her own track when unplugging stuff, and you can do that with this cable! Although, the big problem with this design, is that because this is such a unique, and unknown design, many people miss out on using it correctly.
*Before I go on, I should say that, like all other Planet Waves cables I have used, these sound amazing and are very durable. Very good cables.
We have many of these cables at my church and they sound great, but because this is such a unique design for a cable, there are very few people who know how to use it. Most of the time, people don't even realize that there is a switch on the cable in the first place, which has caused much confusion. I.e. Instruments being muted from the cable, but not the mixer. We have had services where we have had to literally ditch certain instruments because we couldn't figure out why someone's guitar wasn't sending any signal. We never thought to change the cable because Planet Waves cables are always so reliable! haha! I also find that even when someone thinks to press the switch when unplugging their guitar or keyboard, they just have no clue whether it is muted when the switch is engaged/disengaged. It would have been nice if they could have labeled it, or colored it differently so that people would know: When this button is pushed in, it is muted. When it is out, it is live.
If I were rating this cable on a five-star rating scale, I would give it four stars: 5 stars for sound quality and durability. 3 stars for functionality. That averages out to 4 stars.

I bought 3 of these cables in 2003.
I've been using these cables for a long, long time. Lifetime guarantee. I've had them replaced dozens of times over the years. I'm glad they did away with the compression spring system on the early ones. I had damaged a few input jacks over the years. Sound quality is good, value is amazing and durability is tops! I just picked up a replacement last Saturday for one. I've got another that needs replacing that I'll maybe bring in tomorrow. Great cables!
Awesome cable
This cable is the best I have, for sure! No signal loss, flexible and the circuit breaker is a must have!
expensive but worthed!

Reliable and sturdy cable with signal control feature
Nice cable! It´s very trustable and strong. It cuts/releases the signal to the amp when you press the button on the plug.
