Description

Programmable high-resolution delay with CV/Gate and Eurorack compatibility.

DEMORA is a unique modular effect combining an all-new, high-resolution delay with unprecedented control and flexibility. Able to be used as a tabletop unit or as a Eurorack module, and with an array of CV/Gate inputs, this compact 21 HP unit has a wide range of uses from studio production to live performance. Not only for modular synth users, DEMORA is perfect for keyboard players, guitarists, DJs or any adventurous musician looking to expand their sound. Carefully crafted in Japan, DEMORA has large, ultra-smooth controls with over 16 million steps of resolution and is fully re-programmable via computer, smartphone or tablet.

DEMORA is an all new delay algorithm with a smooth, creamy sound and quick response that is as fun to tweak as it is to hear. With the massive range of delay times and buffer hold function you can create anything from ultra-subtle widening to dramatic rhythmic effects. Using the large comfortable controls or standard 1/8" patch cables, you can independently control the delay time, feedback, width, wet/dry signal, delay hold and signal bypass. Both the delay time and feedback parameters have input level controls for adjusting the modulation range when controlled from an external source. Two inputs and two outputs make DEMORA a stereo-capable, 24bit/96kHz audio interface for Eurorack systems and AIRA Link USB compatibility gives it single-cable, plug and play connectivity with the MX-1 Mix Performer.

Roland Aira Demora review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Roland's Demora offers a versatile and high-quality delay effect, especially shining when paired with unconventional wave shapes. While its integration with modular systems and Eurorack is seamless, and the 96kHz sample rate adds clarity, the price is steep for its category. Users might find the manual lacking in detail, making initial setup a bit challenging. Overall, it's a powerful tool for those willing to invest in its premium features.

Multifunctional Greatness!

I absolutely love the Aira Modular FX units (I've yet to try the Bitrazer). The Demora delay effect is great, the sound is crystal clear all the way to the last repetition. You have 4 knobs, Time, Feedback, Width and Dry/Wet as well as Hold- and Bypass buttons. I love using the delay with some crisp hats to make them chaotic and stumbly :)

Along with Rolands Aira Modular Customiser app the innards may be reprogrammed to make it almost whatever modular unit you need (24 virtual modules to choose from). I've reprogrammed them as a drum synth in my latest project, with noises, filters, envelopes etc..

If you're like me and own a Roland MX-1 Mix Performer, they can be plugged into the Aira link USB-ports and serve as converters from 3.5mm mono inputs to USB by bypassing the FX. Their original price tag was horrendous, but I bought mine used for half the price, so I am extremely happy with my purchases. The Scooper and Demora are favourites among my gear!
