Review: Shure Nexadyne 8/S & 8/C — AudioTechnology

audiotechnology.com

Shure's Nexadyne 8/S and 8/C microphones are impressive feats of engineering, ushering in a new era for live vocal mics. With Dual-engine Transducer Technology, they offer a focused, hi-fi sound that cuts through stage noise, earning accolades for their clarity and presence. These mics excel in live settings, providing a crisp, natural sound that elevates performances. While they lack any glaring faults, handling them awkwardly isn't ideal, but performers won't need much EQ tinkering. They're poised to become classics, keeping Shure at the forefront of microphone innovation.

Shure Nexadyne

soundonsound.com

Shure's Nexadyne 8/C hits the stage with innovative dual-capsule technology, offering crisp, clear sound, and consistent polar patterns that rival capacitor mics. Its robust build and eco-friendly packaging add to its appeal. While the bright, presence-boosted sound may not suit every vocalist, the Nexadyne's ability to handle proximity effects and off-axis sound impressively make it a versatile choice for live performances. Its forgiving nature for performers on the move makes life easier for live sound engineers. However, the pronounced treble boost might not be a fit for all singers.

Review: Shure Nexadyne 8/C Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone

mixdownmag.com.au

Shure's Nexadyne 8/C Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone is a game-changer, poised to dethrone its predecessors, the SM58 and BETA 58A, with its remarkable vocal clarity and tonal quality. Its dual-engine Revonic Technology offers a detailed and naturally processed sound, pleasing vocalists and engineers alike. The sleek design and robust structure promise durability, while the tight cardioid pickup pattern excels at isolating vocals on loud stages, minimizing ambient noise. Though not a one-size-fits-all solution, for those prioritizing vocal clarity and reduced stage noise, the Nexadyne 8/C is an outstanding choice that leaves everyone—from singers to audiences—satisfied.

very good, would buy again

I use this mic for live vocals with a loud rock band with playback via floor monitors. (The Band has a drum kit, multiple half-stack Marshall guitar amps, bass, etc.) It produces much better vocal quality and sound rejection than my SM58. It's less prone to feedback issues than a handheld condenser mic (e.g., Neumann KMS105, etc.) while being very responsive to plosives and other live vocal techniques.
