Sony SRS-XB12 Review - RTINGS.com

rtings.com

The Sony SRS-XB12 is a compact Bluetooth speaker with portability in mind, but it falls short in sound performance. While its sturdy design and excellent battery life are commendable, it struggles with low-bass and overall volume, making it less than ideal for music and movies. The speaker's tendency to downmix stereo to mono detracts from the listening experience, and the lack of an EQ limits customization. Although it shines for podcasts with clear vocals, the poor voice assistant functionality and inability to connect to multiple devices are significant drawbacks. In essence, it delivers clean audio at low volumes, but audiophiles will likely be disappointed.

Sony SRS-XB12 Review | PCMag

The Sony SRS-XB12 surprises with its powerful audio performance in a compact design, backed by a waterproof build that enhances its outdoor appeal. Priced at around $60, it's an excellent value, capable of delivering impressive bass for its size. However, be cautious at higher volumes, as distortion can creep in, particularly with deep bass tracks. Additionally, the speakerphone quality leaves something to be desired, lacking clarity. For those prioritizing portability and durability without breaking the bank, the SRS-XB12 is a top contender, though it may not fully satisfy those seeking robust sound fidelity at max volume.

Sony SRS-XB12 Bluetooth Speaker Review | Beebom

Compact and sturdy, the Sony SRS-XB12 delivers impressive sound quality with notable bass, making it ideal for on-the-go music lovers. Its long battery life and IP67 rating enhance its versatility, perfect for pool parties or outdoor adventures. However, the speaker's charging time can be frustrating, taking over four hours to fully recharge, which may deter some users. Additionally, the lack of aptX support might disappoint audiophiles seeking higher fidelity. Overall, for the price, the SRS-XB12 is a fantastic portable speaker that balances quality, durability, and convenience, making it a strong contender in its category.

Sony SRS-XB12 Extra Bass portable speaker review | Reviews.org

Small yet powerful, the Sony SRS-XB12 delivers impressive bass and a rugged design that’s perfect for on-the-go use. With a battery life that can stretch nearly 16 hours, it stands out as a top contender in the mini Bluetooth speaker category. However, be mindful of slight distortion at high volumes and the lack of a 360-degree sound option. While it excels in small spaces, larger venues might require a heftier speaker. At an attractive price point—often dipping below $70—this speaker is a fantastic value, but it may not be the best fit for everyone.

Awesome utilitarian

It has a mic so I can use it to replace my MacBook's broken one, you can pair it with other one to achieve a stereo experience and has indeed an awesome bass response for its size, plus an aux input and a very useful hanging strap. These peculiar features placed it above from its price competitors.
