Critic Reviews

Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass PH V: Price, Specs and Best Deals | FindMyGuitar

findmyguitar.com

While the Squier Precision Contemporary Active PH V offers solid playability and an attractive price point, it suffers from several notable drawbacks. The build quality is lacking, featuring cheap fret wire and non-locking tuners that may disappoint serious players. Additionally, the lack of high-quality pickups and limited tonal versatility could leave some musicians wanting more. Despite its active preamp providing a decent sound, the overall craftsmanship feels below par for the price range. This bass may suit beginners or casual players, but those seeking a more refined instrument should look elsewhere.

I love how it looks and how it sounds.

I have played multiple genres with this, and played with different amps, and it sounds awesome. Handles effects well like distortion or overdrive for a nice metal tone. The active pickups are nice, but you need to use a battery for it to work, doesn't work without a battery.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

I keep volume 100%, pickup control 50%, tone 75%, and treble 80%, bass 40%
