Review – Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz Bass | The Budget Guitarist

budgetguitarist.com

The Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jazz Bass offers impressive value, delivering a classic Fender Jazz Bass sound thanks to its Alnico pickups, all for a fraction of the price. It boasts a stunning look and good playability, although not without some issues typical of budget instruments, like sharp fret ends and a less-than-perfect initial setup. While it won't match the playability of higher-end models, it provides a solid platform for those willing to make minor adjustments. For players looking to capture the iconic Jazz Bass tone on a budget, this Squier is a commendable choice.

Squier 40th Anniversary Vintage Precision and Jazz Bass review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Squier's 40th Anniversary Vintage Precision and Jazz Basses celebrate the brand's legacy with style and substance. These instruments boast refined aesthetics and powerful sounds, making them standout options in their price range, albeit on the higher side for Squier. Their use of nyatoh wood and gold hardware lends them a touch of extravagance, especially on the Jazz bass. However, the choice of wood could have been improved with alder, a more traditional option. Despite minor drawbacks, these basses offer a compelling alternative to pricier Fender models, with authentic tones and solid build quality. Overall, they provide excellent value for those not fixated on the Fender name.

warm sound.

This is not my bass. i borrowed it from a friend. my first impression is the really warm and comfy sound, that you will expect from a jazz bass. i have been a jazz bass user since i began playing bass, and this is the best one that i have tried.

Good for the price

I got a new one at a guitar center. I played pretty good, but had a little bit of fret buzz.

Good Budget Bass

Traded a Hofner counterfeit to a friend of mine for this, as I wasn't really vibing with a hollowbody bass. For a resale value of $100, this bass is a great tool to have around recording situations. It's dependable, sounds good, and I don't have to worry about other people messing it up since it's seen better days. The weight seems to be quite a bit less than a real Fender, so it's easier to play for extended periods of time. Not exactly my go-to bass, but it's nice to have around for a classic Fender tone. Not much beats that.

Quality.

My 2000 Squier Jazz Bass has a better feeling neck, frets and better sounding pickups than any MIM Fender coming out today. Yes, it says Squier on the headstock and for us who are "snobs", I don't want to take it out and play live with it but I'll give you one guess at which bass is my gear review/demo bass in the studio.

Don't question it, you can't beat the price tag and the quality and durability of these "older" Squier's is outstanding.

My firt bass

Ah, my first bass.

I still have it but it's in a massive state of disrepair. I will keep it until I'm in the ground though. Sentimental value 'n' all that.

not bad

my best friend gave this bass to me as a gift, I need to get it set up but its quite alright

skyler_hughet

My main bass.

Bought mine very used with a broken trust rod. Later replaced the neck with a cheap amazon copy and it has served as my main bass since.

dozyleo666

Not bad, but not good.

This was my first ever electric bass I used to own when I started playing in 2012. A bass for beginners, not good overall but decent to start off with.
