    Source
  • The SSL Duality preamps include a drive knob, allowing for a unique and fun mixing experience, distinct from traditional models like the SSL K series.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The lack of channel dynamics on the Oracle has been identified as a significant oversight, especially compared to older models that offered comprehensive recallable compression.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • Concerns exist about modern board repairability, as older consoles are more easily maintained, whereas newer models may lack long-term support and parts availability.

    Source
  • Syncing Pro Tools to the Duality requires using Midi Time Code from port 14 and selecting the GEN MTC button on the transport.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Successful automation requires setting the Duality as the Time Code Master and confirming Avid MachineControl is licensed and installed for Pro Tools.

The Duality Delta 72 was the first to be deployed at Larrabee, with the Delta 48 replacing the 4000G.

“We were conscious about power, and the Duality made sense, as you plug it in and go, and we don't have to worry about old tech that would slow down the workflow,” Marroquin explains.

The [Delta] 72 currently resides in studio six, while the 48 is now in studio four – which is where the old 4000G used to be.
