Critic Reviews

Sugar Bytes Guitarist review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Sugar Bytes' Guitarist boasts a user-friendly interface and serves as a decent songwriting tool, but it struggles with lifelike sound, sometimes veering into robotic territory. The limited guitar selection, lack of pickup switching, and basic effects are notable drawbacks. While the sequencer and strumming mechanics are solid, the software falls short of its grandiose claim as "the most complete guitar software of all time." It's a promising start with potential for improvement, particularly if future updates address its current limitations. For those seeking quick rhythm parts, it may suffice, but it lacks the depth for a comprehensive must-have purchase.

Great sound, pretty close to a real guitar

I haven't really gotten the hang of using it yet, though, but i haven't played guitar in a long time, so that's probably a major factor.

“Unfortunately, I can’t play the guitar, so it’s good to have some help in this area! If you take some time to discover all of the software’s little functions, you can get that real guitar feeling (dead notes, etc). You can also create some really interesting, weird sounds or play with 20 fingers on every hand. It even looks super-cool.”
