Synapse Audio does it again
I'm a happy user of The Legend. I knew Synapse Audio's Oberheim emulation would be amazing & boy did they exceed my expectations! I love using Obsession for pads & "airy" synth leads (especially when you're modulating the filter; omfg does the filter sound otherworldly). However, I also find myself using Obsession a lot for creating all sorts of sound effects with the sample-and-hold waveform (a welcome surprise for me; granted, I've never owned an Oberheim synth myself).
I'm surprised more people don't rave about Synapse Audio's product line. Best vintage synth emulations I've heard while being so programmable!

they've tagged a ton of features together from various oberheims, soundwise I tink its aiming to be an OBX and the OBX was NOT feature laden, but it had the best sound of the 80s obies, pre curtis chip, pre digital envelopes etc... the OBX and the expande/matrix12 are the oberheims to try before you die although for very different reasons

Never played with a OBX but yeah, Obsession seems to be modelled off the OBX most.
Tried the Arturia version of the Matrix12. It was cool but nothing mind blowing like Obsession. Or maybe that's a testament to Synapse's amazing DSP coding (or Arturia's relatively lacking synth engine).
Dude I love everything by Synapse Audio. These guys deserve so much more love from the producer community than they're being given right now! =/

Fuck where's the edit button when you actually need it?!?!? LOL.
