Description

The TK Audio SP502 500-Series Microphone Preamp is a versatile powerhouse for any studio setup, masterfully combining vintage and modern sonic qualities in a single-slot 500-series format. At its core lies a transformerless input stage, providing a clean and transparent base for your recordings. With its hybrid design, you can effortlessly switch between two distinct output stages: a vintage Class A-style output that delivers the iconic low-mid punch of early '70s British preamps, and a modern electronically balanced output for a cleaner sound reminiscent of the '80s and '90s.

Perfectly suited for both mic and DI instrument recording, the SP502 boasts up to 70 dB of clean gain and a fully discrete DI path, ensuring pristine audio fidelity. Its sweepable high-pass filter (30Hz–400Hz) allows for precise low-end sculpting, while the switchable Saturation function adds a rich harmonic texture to your tracks by subtly increasing the total harmonic distortion.

Additional features include +48V phantom power, a -30dB pad, polarity flip, and illuminated switches for seamless operation in any recording environment. Whether you're capturing the warmth of a vintage mic or the clarity of modern instruments, the SP502 provides the flexibility and character to enhance your sound palette.
