The design uses a starved tube circuit, which is more of a tube-colored effect rather than true tube amplification, affecting its tonal character.

Clean & Solid
I have been using this since 2020 when I began work on a huge soundtrack. I needed extra juice / pre-amp for a set of mics to run into my CL1B and one of the folks on the team gifted me this.
I had previously been using these and similar models for a few years when I was producing audiobooks at a bunch of studios and was surprised they opted for ART over other brands. Once I gave these a whirl, I was pleasantly surprised.
I tend to use mine for gain, gate and disengage the rest.
