Amazing
I may never get into hardware Eurorack simply because VCV rack exists. It's free, sounds great, and the number of free modules available is mind-boggling. There are many free modules that are perfect recreations of existing physical modules. The only thing lacking here is the ability for the program to function as a plugin within your DAW, but I generally use VCV rack as a standalone program. Or sometimes I'll export a short sequence as a .wav file and import it into my DAW for further use. Apparently DAW integration is coming and will cost money. Not sure if I will pay for it just for the DAW integration, but it would be tempting.

Very useful tool
In my modest opinion, VCV Rack is a very amazing tool, it opens the door to the universe of modular synthesizer to people that does not too much expert about this area. The great plus is that Rack is open source and the user community is very large and proactive about several websites with addon packages (VCV website and muffwiggler), patches (patchstorage.com) and configs (modulargrid.net). About the addon packages, some of that are the transpositions of real world "eurorack" modules, like "mutable instruments" (formerly "audible"), "erica synth", "befaco" and more. Also, it's possible to interact with every D.A.W. with "bridge" plugins. In synthesys, a very useful tool.

FREE Virtual Modular Rack
Years ago I before I ever heard of Eurorack format, I wanted to get a complete MODCAN modular system.
Now? IMHO it's rather possible. Yes, critics will say "It's not REAL Analog!" Still, Andrew Belt's work with VCV is amazing. And the community momentum behind VCV is nothing short of astounding. Literally hundreds of Free modules already extend the platform.
Did I mention "Free"?

Great modular synth thingy.
I can make cool sounds, record them in a complicated process of recording the audio that comes out of my computer, and put them in my tracks, so it's good.
Only use it if you understand synths really, really well.

only useable indipendant modular simulator
outside bitwig, there's not really any competition to something like this, and considering how good it is, combined with the starter pack being free? just go get it

amazing !!
Really fascinating when you build patches and see how many routes, detours, and journeys a signal flow can take from point A to point B. The fact its free is mindblowing in itself.
