Vocaloid 4 Cyber Songman & Cyber Diva Review - Bedroom Producers Blog

bedroomproducersblog.com

Vocaloid 4's Cyber Songman and Cyber Diva offer expressive, intelligible synthesized vocals that can replace human singers for many applications. While not as dynamic as a live singer, they’re practical for quick jobs like jingles or backing tracks. Cyber Songman’s natural tone surpasses Cyber Diva’s, reflecting distinct strengths in pop/rock genres. The editor is user-friendly despite limitations, such as lack of VST instrument support and some phonetic rigidity. For producers needing a reliable virtual vocalist, these tools are efficient and cost-effective, though they won’t fully replicate a human performance.

Complicated, expensive, but very high quality

I am a Vocaloid user who has both Vocaloid 3 and 4 for Cubase. Vocaloid is complicated for new users, and somewhat intimidating when one first starts out. However, it has many adjustment options, and although it takes a while to become proficient at "tuning" (editing) the voice, it's quite enjoyable. It should be noted that the editor and the voices must be purchased SEPARATELY, which leads to quite a high cost.
