Critic Reviews

Yamaha AG06 mixer

guitarinteractivemagazine.com

The Yamaha AG06 is hailed as a "Swiss Army Knife" of audio interfaces, offering versatility with a variety of input options and a compact design. It's perfect for gamers and more, allowing connections to computers or tablets with ease. The sound quality is commendable, and the built-in effects like comp/EQ and reverb are surprisingly effective. However, it's not a full-fledged mixer, lacking faders and channel EQ, which could disappoint those seeking advanced mixing capabilities. Still, with its range of options and quality sound, it's a unique and practical solution for varied audio needs.

Yamaha AG06 & AG03

soundonsound.com

The Yamaha AG06 isn't your typical mixer; it's a compact, bus-powered audio interface with some mixing perks. With 24-bit, 192kHz capabilities, it’s a great studio companion, offering clean audio and reliable mic preamps. The onboard DSP effects, while needing software for full control, add versatility. However, the guitar amp modeling can be noisy, and reverb may be excessive without tweaks. Limited by its lack of front-panel EQ and pan controls, it’s not the best for live mixing. Yet, for its price, it’s a solid choice for desktop recording setups, especially with the bundled Cubase AI.
