I used to have a pile of real moreley oil cans (1 fully working and 2 or 3 broken)... you could get them for like 10 bucks at yard sales because the oil is toxic. And because they suck. I got rid of mine a few years ago when the township declared a "hazmat" trash day. Are they valuable now?
Anywaty, I hope that carsinogenic gunk in the cans got disposed of safely. I don't want any baby birds getting cancer over such a questionable vintage effect.
this thing seems cooler than a real one, trust me
This is news to me... that's kinda scary. Lol who puts actual oil in a pedal? Anyways, from what I see, there's the Morley oil can wah, and some boxey thing called the "Morley Electrostatic Delay Line EDL Oil Can Unit". Sounds fairly good, considering both effects are too big. A wah for an oil can delay? Weird.

How to get this sound? - Post here to get ideas on how your favourite band gets their sound.
Sometimes, you have to make your musical equipment your friendly female partners.
Then you must connect'em all and make'em scream.

From the sound of it, straight plate or hall reverb. I'd go with plate because I'm not the biggest fan of the hall. Since you have a Hall of Fame and Carbon Copy, try it out yourself (if you haven't already).
By the way, I love your Equipboard. Everything but the amp is a fantastic choice of musical equipment. Love the Wildkat in particular.

From what I hear, he's going 100% wet. Sounds like he's got the DL4 set to a long delay, then the reverb, of course 100% mix, but the decay not too high so he can still hit notes without it slurring too wildly.
The slurring on the verses is really just him playing soft. The delay amplifies it and the reverb lets the whole thing bloom.

Haha, well the effect is quite dark for one. If you haven't looked them up yet, here's a video straight from the makers:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI4UwG7mrE0
Love the vibe they have going, and I love this video especially. Anyways, long story short, it's an oil-can delay.

Will do. On a side note, I also have a Old Blood Black Fountain that I ordered last Friday. Thing is, they haven't shipped it... Maybe that's what I get for purchasing straight from the creators rather than an official retailer? I should contact them by Friday...
Anyways, I'm pretty excited!! Can't wait. Hopefully, I'll be able to post a report and some picture soon :D

Rumor has it, he is the drummer for that horrible band Ghost now as well.
They were Ghost B.C. for the American tour. Frankly, they are supposed to be a Satanic band and all. Their new album is fairly good in my opinion, but they're more just an alternative metal thingy. The fact that wiki say "doom metal" and "heavy metal" is a bit of a disgrace to me.
If you want good stuff, get some of that death metal.

I know this is three months old now, but I just want to say that I settled on this:

"Hagström Tremar Super Swede"
Has pretty much everything I need under a $1000 price tag. Yes, I have the money NOW, I can order it now, but I felt it better to post here and just so you guys know.

It feels kind of weird hearing from you talking about all these stereo effects going on, considering you're, at least in my opinion, more of a Les paul into one overdrive straight to Vox amp.
On a side note, have your tried splitting stereo and having two different delay settings on each side? So much fun, so confusing at times LOL

Not much to say, I was just fooling about on the Minour Pentatonic when I realised I was in Drop D, tried to fix it, then found this beauty.
Edit: I found it, it's A# Majour Pentatonic. Sorry :P

Sid Wilson.
Hehehe...
OK, joking, don't kill me.
Parov Stelar. He does something called Electro Swing, it's pretty impressive. I've been listening to "The Princess" album lately, been getting into it a little bit more and more. Haven't seen his live performances, but I expect them to be thrilling.

Saw this one right now, and he actually has legitimate submissions and he is a confirmed artist. He seems to be the only one making an effort, and a really good one at that.

Yamaha doesn't make any telecaster style guitars. Closest match is this:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3339/3339421116_eee2d5f3c0.jpg
Notice the headstock is not perfectly round, there's a sort of dip. Not quite so.
10yover 10 years ago
Neither. Suhr has a point on the headstock whereas the Tele in Matt's hands has a rounded section for the tip.
Reverend is also has a very different headstock design.

Majour zombie conjuring here.
http://equipboard.com/pros/matthew-bellamy/fender-telecaster
Just saw this and I'm a bit confused. Two people marked it as incorrect, but if you look at 0:55, you can see it appears to be a straight black Telecaster.
Edit: I just saw the headstock. So it's not Fender. Anyone recognise it?
10yover 10 years ago
LOL a bit mad, aren't we? Not such a fan? I suppose being a very seasoned guitarist would cause oneself to cringe at the idea of a perfectly good acoustic guitar wasted by magnetic pickups.

Quick Question On Acoustic Strap Buttons
I don't know why I actually came back here, but I did anyways. Just wanted to thank you guys for the information and stuff, and that's it. I'd post pics, but I'm not up to doing it right now.
Anyways, the guitar survived its surgery and it has its strap button snug on the curve of the neck. Feels great to have it there. A bit difficult to put the strap on, but not as back as trying to put it on that piece of crap headstock strap thing.

This thread is brought to you buy Glenn Fricker's reaction video:
10yover 10 years ago
Haha, it looks special to me, mate, and it sounds special. Then again, the guy reviewing it commented that it doesn't even function as an acoustic guitar because of the pickups. It even has electric strings strapped on.
Maybe it's just the pickups.
10yover 10 years ago
Sounds like you're not fond of it. Personally I kinda like the idea, and like I said, the feedback from such a light overdrive is fantastic. Also, I'm a fan of bells and whistles. Just like the idea.
So, you got any suggestions? Any guitars that are pretty much the same thing?

"CF Martin fitted this version with an irregular ope in their flat-tops. The 00-18E had one pickup, while the D-18E and D-28E had two each. Note the two different locations for the bridge pickups in the first and third photos above."
This particular version of the DeArmond Model 2000 pickups were fitted on the D-18E which Kurt Cobain used for MTV Unplugged. I was just looking for fun for the prices of the pickups since it seems the guitar isn't being made anymore and the pickups are... somewhere.
The guitar itself, here's a review. I just love that feedback, and the sound is phenomenal.
Another thing, if anyone cares to do even more extensive research, is there an acoustic guitar close to the specs of the Martin D-18E that I may use to slap on some of those DeArmond pickups to replicate that sound?

overwhelmed by modern multi-fx technology
oh god no, it looks cool for a guy with no gear and no sound yet, ut for a guy like me with a distinct sound and tons of analog gear who wants to just kidna expand his palette? nah
:(
Okay, well that's as far as my knowledge of multi-effects units goes. Happy shopping!

I've heard the sounds that Plini can get out of it and they sound absolutely killer. This is essentially what he uses in place of an AxeFX, and there's a few good reviews on it.
Not sure if they meet all your criteria, but I think it's pretty cool.

Removing member from a band and bio
Well, the third-party software you're using (forgot the name) seems to recognise a wide range of artists. It however is flawed in some aspects. For example, it recognises Munaf Rayani as a member of the band "Explosions in the Sky", but ignores Michael James. It might be the wording of the name or something, I could never tell.
Another thing, it doesn't recognise Agnes Obel as a famous singer-songwriter. Also, it knows Ben Cooper of Radical Face was in some obscure band called Electric President... Doesn't seem to be well known, but it surprises me how it picked that up, but not Radical Face.
It's just these strange blips that have me wondering. I'm they'll be fixed later, but I continually find these blips so odd.

His jams with Daniel Jakubovic sound really good, it's really surprising. Then again, he is from Dream Theatre.

EquipBoard's system is actually kind of weird. I submitted Chris Bishop of Crobot, so it was a wonder to find that he wasn't recognised.

I played 11s for a while in my 20s.... they are a lot like 10s, LOL
Yeah, about that. I think I got the wrong 11 gauges.
So, I got myself this which is basically 11 gauge D'Addario string. Strapped'em on my tele and did a practise session with my friends. The result?
In retrospect, I think I D'Addario loaded 10's in that bag because they don't feel any heavier.
I think I wa supposed to get 11-52, not 11-49...

But... but why in the Guitarists & Bassists sub-forum? Shouldn't it be in General?
Anyways, this has been an extreme issue. Haha, there's four Vibrolux amplifiers on this site. Guess how many Fender Strats there are? Just coloured Strats, too many.

You know I never understood completely what you meant about the knobs on the BQC system, but now that I see it, I wonder, couldn't you replace the knows or are they attached directly to the pots?
Also, sorry about the nut. You plan on leaving it like that?

Congratulations!
When you get in you car, make sure to watch out for four basic things not on the test:
1) Idiots who don't bother with their turn signal
2) Idiots who are on their phone while driving
3) Idiots who drift into your lane without looking
4) Idiots in general
