Critic Reviews

Review: Finding inspiration in a compact mixer again, with 1010music Bluebox - CDM Create Digital Music

cdm.link

The 1010music Bluebox offers a compact yet powerful solution for musicians seeking to mix and record on the go. Its six stereo inputs and extensive onboard effects provide a lot of creative potential. However, the learning curve can be steep due to its complex EQ settings, which may overwhelm less experienced users. While it excels in capturing live performances and integrating with MIDI gear, its interface lacks the tactile feedback needed for improvisation on stage. Ultimately, the Bluebox is a solid tool that shines in specific scenarios but may not suit everyone’s workflow.

1010 Music Bluebox review | Juno Daily

juno.co.uk

The 1010music Bluebox is a game-changer for musicians seeking a portable mixer/recorder hybrid. Its compact design and touchscreen interface offer a fresh take on traditional mixing, though some may find the lack of dedicated knobs a drawback. With features like multi-track recording and intuitive project management, it's ideal for live performances. However, those entrenched in DAW setups may find its benefits limited. Overall, it shines in live settings while sparking curiosity for future models, making it a solid choice for innovative creators.

It's almost perfect.

This mixer is almost perfect. The form factor is incredible in terms of how much it does in such a small footprint. It's well worth the price. The only thing that is less than perfect is it's sensitivity to interference. If it's not powered correctly or if any of the gear that is patched in is powered incorrectly, then there may be some buzzing issues. These can be resolved with moving power to the right place ie. everything should be coming through one outlet if possible. This is not unique to the bluebox but it does seem to be extra sensitive about it. Other than that, the thing is a treat.
