Hard to go wrong

I mean...its a MBP...so...yeah it works well. Mine is a model with the touch bar which could be cool if developers manage to use it to its full potential.

So happy I made the switch from PC -> Mac

Starting out as a young producer I had always been a PC guy - once I made the switch to a Mac Book Pro, my workflow had changed tremendously. Especially being an Ableton user - my PC just couldn't handle all the Plug Ins and Software I was running. I would happily advise any young aspiring Producer and Artist out there to invest in a Mac as your Foundational basis.

My partner say goodbye

I loved i but from one day to another it stop working the screen and many technicians said I would to replace her, a great companion and a cero latency helper on the road. nowadays Iam trying to get another one or maybe go back to windows and a good laptop with enough RAM to start amazing you... Again

Versatile performance with seamless Windows integration

I love this computer. It's great for doing day-to-day tasks and well as the more complicated stuff. I also love boot camp as it allows me to run windows 7/8 in a partition of the hard drive.

Perfect for the travelling/touring artist.

The Macbook Pro is the industry standard in Music Production and performance. It runs my DAW and VSTs flawlessly and allows me to work on whatever I want, wherever I want. You'll very rarely see me without it, incredibly portable, incredibly light, and quite simply, incredible.

I ain't getting that new single port one though. Hell no.

Never try the first series

Apple is more and more letting bugs and small incompatibilities lower the customer experience when it comes to buying the first series (beta) models and products. Lets hope they'll get back to old greatness.

Great for what I do! Mac has never been able to let me down since they made this product. More processing, less space on your desk gone. I mean, it's not a crazy high quality desktop computer kind of processor, but it does it's job. And well too! Also, it's size makes it nice and portable. So you can record sessions in your bro's bedroom! Great computer!

Customized and Killer

I have a Mid-2009 model that was giving me some problems a couple years back, so I decided to give it a huge makeover and now it is a beast.

Changes I made: - Maxed out RAM to 8GB - Swapped out stock HDD for an SSD (dedicated to running applications) - Removed the Optical Drive and installed another SSD (dedicated to files/library) - Installed a new battery

It's a bummer you can't modify the new Retina models.

I use it primarily to run Traktor but also Logic 9. I hope to get a dedicated studio machine soon.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

First of all, no more light on the apple. Which is terrible for Djs that are usually in a dark dj booth. It looks like any other laptop cause of the no light condition. On top of that it is super expensive to increase the storage on it, and you can only increase it before purchase.

8GB Ram, 500gb HDD , i5 macbook pro 2012 13 inch.

Being raised a Windows freak for more or less 18 years of my life, I bought a Macbook for my music degree.

It has only 'properly' crashed three times in four years (aka it restarting for absolutely no reason) but apart from that I've never had a single problem with it.

Overpriced, yes. Worth it? Deffo. And connected to my 32 inch monitor it is basically like having a desktop.
