Capo touch 2.0 review: Use your iPad to learn how to play your favorite songs | Macworld

macworld.com

Capo touch 2.0 is a versatile tool for guitarists, now on iOS, offering features like speed alteration and chord recognition that facilitate learning new songs. It syncs seamlessly with Mac projects through iCloud, though requires local song downloads for new iOS projects. While its automatic chord recognition isn't flawless, editing is easy. The interface, though initially unintuitive, becomes manageable with use. Features like region looping and key transposition are useful, though the absence of fine pitch tuning from its Mac counterpart is a drawback. Despite some limitations, Capo touch significantly aids musicians in mastering songs.

The iCloud sync is a real benefit! I want to do the work on my laptop with the big screen and keyboard, then have it exist on my iPhone so I can reference it in rehearsal. I’m going to use Capo a lot throughout my career as a music director. It gives me the tool to not only speak to guitarists, but speak to everybody on stage and say, “Here are the chords… and if you need to slow it down to half-time to learn it, there’s your tool.”
