Description
The Fender Custom Deluxe Telecaster is an eloquent blend of tradition and modern craftsmanship, perfect for every guitar enthusiast. This exceptional instrument is designed to deliver classic Tele twang with a contemporary twist. At its heart is a hand-selected ash body topped with an AAA quilted maple veneer, offering not just stunning aesthetics but also the warmth and sustain that Telecasters are renowned for. The 1-piece AA flame maple neck provides a robust feel and articulate playability, making it a joy to navigate across its 9.5" radius fingerboard.
Equipped with the Custom Shop Twisted Tele pickup set, this guitar offers a higher output and a brighter sound that harks back to the spank and sparkle of a Strat, all while maintaining the signature Tele character. The modern 3-way switching and Greasebucket tone control circuit give you versatile tonal options, from crisp cleans to gritty growls. Whether you're on stage or in the studio, the Custom Deluxe Telecaster's staggered machine heads and Custom Classic bridge ensure rock-solid tuning stability and dynamic expression.

In this video, you can clearly see Alex playing a custom Telecaster Deluxe. It is semihollow and has a black body and matching headstock. He commonly uses it for their 'Always Ascending' album. Unfortunately, I can't find a better image of it.
Josh speaks at length about his two custom Fender Telecaster Deluxe. His main one is this 'Goldtop'-finish with a fake f-hole. His other is a heavily 'aged' sunburst finish. By looking carefully at the bare wood of the 'aged' one we can see that they have alder bodies. Their fretboards are rosewood. Their necks are most likely maple with 'vintage' amber finishes, although he does not point this out specifically. The pickups are a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat at the neck and an unnamed Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge; most likely an Alnico II Pro as Taylor York, the other guitarist of Paramore at this time, used a Phat Cat & Alnico II Pro combination in his own custom Fender guitars. There is no regular production guitar by Fender which matches this specification. There are no stock photos of these two guitars; the image used as an example of this guitar is a Chris Shiflet signature Telecaster Deluxe in Shoreline Gold, which is the closest model Fender makes to Josh's unique custom guitar. These guitars, especially his main Goldtop one, are entirely unique to Josh.
