Description

Step into the realm of vintage sound with the Distorque Vitamin C, a plugin that skillfully captures the essence of the legendary Orange Squeezer guitar compressor. Revered by iconic musicians such as Mark Knopfler and Jeff Baxter, the Orange Squeezer is celebrated for its distinctive "smooth squish" and sustain that defined many a classic track. The Vitamin C plugin embraces these characteristics, offering an authentic emulation that brings the nostalgic warmth of the 1970s right to your digital workstation.

But this isn't just a simple replica. The Vitamin C expands on the original with added controls for nuanced sound shaping, allowing you to tailor the compression to your specific needs. Whether you're working in mono or stereo, this plugin adapts effortlessly, offering selectable 2x oversampling for enhanced sound quality. While it isn't a studio compressor in the traditional sense, its quirks and inherent imperfections are what make it a unique tool in any music producer’s arsenal.

Crafted exclusively for PC users, the Vitamin C operates smoothly in both 32 and 64-bit environments, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of systems. Ideal for guitarists and producers alike, this plugin is a testament to the enduring appeal of classic gear with a modern twist.

sounds like an old orange squeezer and cna do stereo.

This really sounds like an orange squeezer. its skronky and grabby and mean. I've tried it on DI guitar and it adds some DI compressor pedal tone for sure but I really like it as an effect on virtual instruments right now. You can go under the hood and screw with the frequency response, time constants, threshold and ratio too, making it more or less hifi, but the stock settings are very close to an OS if that's what you want. I am thinking of trying this on a vocal some time, maybe something recorded with a decent dynamic like an SM7 or Beta57. This is free and you might as well download it because its up to the standards of a lot of pay guitar effect plugins.
