Artist usage

I use the Linear Phase Multiband Compressor a lot, because some of the other multiband compressors introduce phasing problems, and the Linear MB doesn’t. I use it once I get to the final mixing stages. Oftentimes I’ll leave the very low end and the highs unaffected. And then in order to get a brighter and heavier sound, I aim sort of in the middle there – it’s kind of like approaching the ‘smiley face’ principle, but doing so in a way that’s subtractive.
At 34:30 an instance of Waves Linear Phase Multiband Compressor Plugin can be clearly seen
"So first of all I run everything through the multiband compression from Waves, and then the phase multiband, it's very neutral-sounding for me, and I don't put too much compression on it..." (17:02)
