Description
The Doepfer A-112 VC Sampler/Wavetable Oscillator is a versatile and compact module that empowers your Eurorack setup with both digital sampling and wavetable synthesis. This 8-bit voltage-controlled sampler offers a nostalgic nod to the early days of digital sound, capturing that raw, gritty texture beloved by experimental musicians and sound designers. With its dual-mode capability, you can seamlessly switch between sampling and wavetable operations, unlocking a world of sonic possibilities.
In sampling mode, the A-112 provides you with two memory banks to capture up to 2 seconds of audio per bank. Its intuitive controls make it easy to record, playback, and manipulate your samples on-the-fly. Whether you're triggering samples manually, through gate signals, or via MIDI, the A-112 adapts to your creative workflow effortlessly. The module even allows for real-time pitch control across a 5-octave range using CV, providing you with dynamic sound-shaping versatility.
Switch to wavetable mode, and the A-112 transforms your stored samples into a rich palette of waveforms. By traversing different wavetables with CV, you can create evolving textures and complex harmonic structures. The module also offers a selection of effects like delay and pitch shifting, adding an extra layer of depth to your sound design endeavors.

On this link, there are Richard David James's comments/replies to some of his fans (back when the account had a different name: "user487363530"). In response to the user @kinbotte, Richard not only confirms that he owns the Elektron Analogue Rytm, but also a bunch of other gear: "ive never found one i really liked. i would love to design my own with someone who could build it for me, I dont really want to spend my time building instruments. Elektron RYTM is prob fave right now, although it doesn't sample which is a shame, dsi tempest, RSF SD140, Pearl fightman[needs mods], Pearl sc40,doepfer a112, Dynacord Add one, loads good plugins these days, sds3, Klone dual perc synth. For synth drum sounds, always best to make your own on a modular+imagination, can make more complex and original sounds than any of the above really, just more of a pain to conjure up."
