Best bang for the buck acoustic in the price range

This acoustic guitar not only feels great, but is probably the best bang for the buck acoustic guitar that an intermediate player on a budget could buy. The guitar is extremely cheap for the materials and craftsmanship that go into it, but cheap does not equal bad. This acoustic guitar is nicer than many more expensive guitars I tried, and those of many popular brands. It has a completely unfinished spruce top, and unfinished mahogany back, sides and neck. This gives us an incredibly resonant instrument, that is very loud, with pleasing brightness but also a lot of nice warmth to the mids and bass, but the bass is not overpowering, like I sometimes experience. The only downside to no finish is that the guitar quickly gathers marks, scratches and dents. After taking a couple of short trips accompanying a choir, my guitar would quickly gather evidence of use, which some people will really dislike. I happen to enjoy my guitars gaining wear marks, so this doesn't bother me. Another effect of the unfinished guitar is an extremely light instrument. This is the lightest guitar I have played, and although it is a tad neck heavy, this means it is extremely comfortable to play for longer shows or sessions.

Another con i discovered was when buying a case, the body of the guitar is quite small, but is still deep. This meant that smaller cases would not fit, as the guitar was too tall for it to close, but the actual shape of the case was right. This meant I had to buy a bigger case, and there is some room for the guitar to move, as it was not as snug. Again, this may not bother most people, but if you travel frequently there is room for the strap pins and neck to be moving around in the case, which could potentially lead to damage.

My conclusion for this guitar is that for the intermediate player looking for a relatively affordable acoustic, this is the best bang for the buck option on the market that I have found so far, and that is the real selling point here. If you don't mind a bit of wear, this is an excellent guitar. However, if you had a little more budget, upgrading to something higher in the Faith range or moving to a brand like Maton or Taylor would be a better option.

What would I do without this guitar?

All of my acoustic session work and recordings get done with this. I couldn't pick a better guitar for the job. Neck is one of the comfiest acoustic necks I've ever played, and how the hell did they manage to make this with actual wood for the price?! No laminates, all spruce-wood and mahogony, and it is one of the best sounding acoustics I've ever heard. I tend to stick to "American guitars, British amps" but this is definitely the exception.
